skittlesRgood
yeah thanks its cause i was thinking about getting a mechman alternator with the voltage adjuster but they only make 200 amp. The worst thing is my car alternator died today i was gonna order one from dc 270 amobut they have a 4 to 6 week wait on them and mechman doesnt. So i tought about just getting the mechman and run a high voltage but im just gonna go to the junkyard and wait for the dc alt. wait...why do you HAVE to run high voltage with a mechman alternator and not a DC alternator? why cant you just run a regular 12v system with a mechman alternator? i believe he would be using ohms law. more voltage to compensate for less amperage. Jagraj7870
DC Alternators are very nice, i personally own the 270 XP and it is controlled by the cars PCM, if u want a voltage regulator u have to tell kyle to do that before he sends it other wise you have to send it back to them if you go with the mechman u can get a external voltage regulator i think, i think i saw a video of it on youtube Quote - 2 SMDs 1 Kicker WarhorseSound System Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/120796-2-18s-in-jeep-wrangler-jk-w-kicker-amplifiers/Air Bag Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/166437-jeep-wrangler-bagdj10k-build/https://www.facebook.com/teammayzn
crunkjuice1
You can just lower the adjustable voltage boost module down to 15v cold and once car warms up it will float around 14.4 to 14.8v. Thats on 12v batteries though and I'm sure the coming summer heat might lower it some more. You will have instructions that tell you how to set the potentiometer.
