jreese92
What size box and port tuning should i use? DC's site recommends 1.5 cubic in. But i was wondering if I should go bigger. I want to pick up the really deep lows. f0zter
The 1.5 would be good for the 12". Hitting the deep lows is mostly tuning. Since you are new to the site please ignore the bolded portion, im sure someone will chime in and explain. I heard if you over power a 15 the internals do a front flip and land backwards, so your sub is out of phase. So watch out. jreese92
I want a 15, but i don't have enough trunk space for it unfortunately so i'm gonna have to go with the 12. What kind of tuning do you guys recommend? This is probably one of the dumbest questions you guys have heard, but personally I don't know. http://dcsoundlab.com/woofers.html - The level 4 12, under the specs, it says fs - 27.4 hz. Is that what i should be tuning my box to? blownengine
It's not a dumb question AT ALL man. Sorry that we are dicking around, ignore that. I recommend tuning anywhere from 30-35 hertz for daily pounding. blownengine
Correct. So do 30 if you listen to alot of slowed and chopped music. I dont really listen to slowed music, but i listen to alot of jeezy, and most of his songs are in the lower frequency range, so 30 would probably be my best bet. Also, will i struggle in the higher frequencies since im tuning so low?
