Bandpass Boxes ?

this is going to a real noob question but, how does a bandpass box work ?

ive seen multiple people use them in their builds and have tuning around 45hz and still able to hammer the lows. and what is an advantage of using a bandpass box to a ported box ?

4th orders peak around tuning frequency of the ported chamber, also, the larger the sealed chamber is, the lower it peaks but you loose a little bit of cone control and power handling, that´s why you see people tuning a BP around 45 hz and still murder the lows, as my man dwright said, they are more efficient and play a larger bandwith
