trjohnst
So I bought 2 new RE Audio SRX15 subs and recently have been having problems. I got them about 5 days ago and I had them outside when it was about 80 degrees and saw 2 big bubbles in my subs. I guess its from the heat and the plastic expanding but I have never seen this before. I guess RE Audio is getting a little cheaper but both subs get bubbles in them when they are in the trunk just sitting outside. The bubbles go away once they get cooled down, like when I take them inside. I didnt know if anyone had ever seen this before or has any suggestions. Maybe they will go away once the plastic expands and contracts to the form of the cone or not. I may return them but needed some suggestions of why this is happening and if I should keep them or not. I payed 225 for them both and they are in a sealed box. Forevrbumpn
Just defective from the factory domes I would think. I seen that on a smaller scale, like 7" poly domes. If they sat on the shelf wrong, or were warped before gluing to the cone, the heat could bring that out. Iam sure RE would fix it if its a problem with sound. Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
trjohnst
Well I purchased them off Ebay and the guy should return them without problem. I have a picture of them but can't figure out how to upload them on here without putting them in a online link. jmilch
Anyone else have any ideas of why this is happening? Its likely a defect in the material finish. The humidity change and temperature change is making the finish bubble. I know the SRX's are cheaper, and RE in general took a step backwards with quality, but you shouldnt be having these issues. trjohnst
Is there a way to insert a picture on here without posting my picture online? I see the insert picture links on here but it wants a website instead of a file Quote 1991 Accord Audioque HDC3 15" (Copper)<--Sub Audioque HDC3 15" (Copper)<--Backup Sub Crescendo BC2000D<--Amp Big 3 1/0 Knu<--Wiring Eonon 3.5" DVD<--Headunit Infinity Kappa Perfect<--Mids & Highs 2nd Stock 80Amp alt. 1991 Mustang 5.0 Too many mods (Sold) 1991 240sx SR20 Red Top Too many mods (Sold) 2004 GTO Just starting mods
loki
RE new Xs woofers are shitty. no where near close to the old stuff. we had the same problem with one at the shop. idk why heat does that to them. I heard RE is changing manufactures on the REX 8s so we will see how these turn out. idk if they changing manufacturer on all the RE lines Quote 05 Ford F150 Single Cab Audio: -Pioneer DEH-3200DVD -Hertz Hi-energy 5x7 Front -RE Audio 5x7 Rear -DD 2512 in Custom 40 Hz Box -Eclipse EA4100 High/Mid amp -Eclipes XA1000 Sub amp -Audison Connnection RCAs -Random wire:Kicker,RF,Lightning Audio
trjohnst
Unfortunately, thats what I figured has happened to them. I have never had any RE Audio but once I saw they put the plastic cover over the magnets, for some reason I just felt like they had gone cheaper. Idk why but it seems like the older subwoofers that show the motor and magnet show real power Quote 1991 Accord Audioque HDC3 15" (Copper)<--Sub Audioque HDC3 15" (Copper)<--Backup Sub Crescendo BC2000D<--Amp Big 3 1/0 Knu<--Wiring Eonon 3.5" DVD<--Headunit Infinity Kappa Perfect<--Mids & Highs 2nd Stock 80Amp alt. 1991 Mustang 5.0 Too many mods (Sold) 1991 240sx SR20 Red Top Too many mods (Sold) 2004 GTO Just starting mods
