It actually makes it yield less but crack easier. The the ultimate strength isn't lowered though if you understand what I mean. However, it makes things very smooth inside but you will have to sand it still. You should gain unless got the inside to be smooth as hell already. I haven´t seen a single application where resin kills your score, there are people gaining only a couple of tenths, other guys didn´t gain anything and a lot more people gained almost a full DB, depends on the application i guess, but yes, it does make the surface of the box very smooth and you get a better airflow.
