Big P Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 it is tricky to say the least.I will be doing it to steve's pillars soon. with pics Now if your only talking about doing a small section, then you have to make that piece all by itself, and wrap them in vinyl. But if you want to make a large piece of the door or the whole door from scratch then my method will work. Also remember that fiberglass does not stick to plastic, so you are gonna have to figure out how you are going to build the pods. Hit it with a heat gun and a bondo grater before laying the glass and it sticks fine
LSN2meBoom916 Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Take a paint roller/dynamat rolller (of any width u want) and wrap it tightly in vinyl material.Try to minimize the seam where the edges meet. If the vinyl has "defined" enough texture, rolling in on a surface covered in VINYL PAINT or other hard/semi-hard drying liquid (glue or gelcoat can work) will leave a layer of that material (glue/gelcoat) in the texture of the vinyl. You could also just "blot" it instead of rolling it to get the texture you want. Similar to making the orange peel texture on a wall in a house.
