Im going to be looking to get a different 18" sub soon, need something that can take 3000wrms.

Currently running a first gen Nightshade, not a big fan of the tinsel slap i get from it.

I have been interested in the following:

DC lvl 5 (obviously alot of people love this sub)

Fi BTL N3 (neo, havent heard anyone say anything about these)

Sundown Nightshade v3 (when available for purchase)

AA Mayhem (really havent heard much about these either)

I was just hoping those of you who have used any of them could lemme know what you think.

I havent heard much of anything about the Neo's from Fi...

I hope this wont be considered a VS thread, i just want informed opinions from people who have had experience with any of these subs.

EDIT: if you got vids of these subs in action (preferably 1 or 3 18's) gimme the link!

Thanks guys!

N3 is strictly for SPL

and all the choices above are nice and will handle 3k nicely

You know how you avoid that? Man the fuck up and bang her best friend sister mom cousin worst enemy and never look back.

JUST SAY ANTI-AUDIOPIPE

Thanks for your input!

Which version of the BTL is intended for daily use?

As far as i can see, all the BTL's use neo motors now?

And one thing i dont understand about tinsel slap, what causes it?

And what has changed to make it go away?

I know my sub currently has it, but i don't know what causes it...

tinsle slap is caused from the cone moving far enough in/out that it pulls the tinsels tight against the spiders causing a slapping noise. And the N2 is for daily use

Tinsel slap is when the leads hit the cone, put felt pads between leads and cone and it will be goone

Fi has integrated Tinsel (woven in with the spiders) not possible to ever have slap.

And the N2 has taken a AQ 3500.1 and laughed at it.. tough subs VERY strong amazing cooling

Doing the felt above the leads, on the cone was such a joke RE came up with. No one wanted to do it right, and stitch leads, so that idea carried on for quite a few years- Annoying customers- If the spiders are stitched correctly, there will never be a problem

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Thanks for the info!

Is there any reason companies have been switching over to neo magnets?

Is it only because they save weight, or are they actually stronger in most cases than the old 3 slug magnets?
