18abVFL Posted May 4, 2011 Report Posted May 4, 2011 okay, i drive a 1999 monte carlo with Four 10" rockford p1s in the trunk on a t500-1bdcp. Since i'm trunked, im limited on space. The box i have fits great, however, i built it in a hurry without a port calc (just my brain, and the box ended up being tuned to about 41 or 42 hz). Thats a little too high for my liking. so its time for a new build! Basically the max dimensions i can work with are 32w, 14h, 24d. That gives me about 4.8 cubes gross. I'm looking to tune my port to about 33hz with a port area of 45 sq/in. These are my options. -Subs up, port back -Subs up, port side -2 subs up, 2 subs back, port back -2 subs up, 2 subs back, port side -2 subs back, 1 sub on each side, port front If anyone has any knowledge on which of these would sound best, please help! 1999 Monte Carlo Sony CDX-GT34w 2 Alpine Type R 12"s in 4 cubes tuned to 35hz American Bass VFL 80.1 amp @ 1 ohm (probably doing between 1000 and 1300rms) Stock alt, Stock batt, Big 3 Upgrade Boston s55- 5 1/4s (doors) Boston s95- 6x9s (rear deck)

It just doesn't seem like there would be any benefit to putting them on the sides like that though. If you end up putting them on the sides though, make sure the subs have room for excursion so they don't hit anything.
