SUB BOX FOR CREW CAB CHEVY

hey guys, im currently building a sub box to go behind my dads 2005 chevy silverado crew cab. im using 11/16" MDF and ive got a 6 inch base 8 1/2" going up the back and a 1.5" lip going from the top of the back wall because of a plastic piece in the back.

if you look at this box here,

im at 6 inchs at the bottom because i glued the back sheet on the inside but i will probably glue the front onto the outside. if you got points or anything that will help me.

havent dicided on ported or sealed, because this is my first box build.

also its 4 feet long which im hoping to seal the box at like 2' so i got room for the amp which is 16" long

i just found that on the internet today after i messured my dads truck the other day and started building because i was to lazy to go take pics in the middle of shop class. but i should be done mid next week. im still deciding if i should put 1 or 2 10's

Ok cool. Looks like you might need some bracing on that front face. Its a long piece and it's only 5/8 MDF so it's gong to want to flex.

thanks man, yea im thinking of putting a wall in the middle so the box for the sub is only 2 feet long, and the extra will be for the rf 500-1 which is about 16inches so that should fit nicely at the end.

thought about raising the seat with some spacers or square tubing then building the box much more room....

down fire ported rear?? or a center console just a thought

im doing this for my dads truck and the only reason is because we do alot of driving and im probable going to be driving this in the future. id love to add alot more then a single 10 or 12, but my dad doesnt like alot of bass and i dont think he wants to dish out a bunch of money ether, thanks for the suggestion tho

I dont know how your budget is, but I think a T500.1bdcp would probably do better than the R500-1
