tlee2 Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 I just got 4 Crescendo super tweeters and im Goin be runnin them in parallel to the front channels of my rf p400.4 bridged. The crossover only goes up to 500hz so I was wondering if this crossover I got sittin around from some components will work if I just hook in the amp and only use the tweeter output and leave the midwoofer output empty? Azagtoth502 Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 It'll work, just make sure the crossover point is around what it needs to be. Quote pa-pa-platypus sorry not everybody has a companies nuts so far down their throat they catch every drop ball sweat when it falls

Autruche Posted May 12, 2011 Report Posted May 12, 2011 You could always make your own crossovers using non-polarized capacitors. Check out this chart for info http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=1 You can get the capacitors here http://www.parts-express.com/wizards/searchResults.cfm?srchExt=CAT&srchCat=198&CFID=33229382&CFTOKEN=85297109 Otherwise the crossovers from component sets should work just fine, they're essentially the same thing anyway, just bulkier. However with using crossovers from a component set, you might not get a really desirable crossover point. Quote Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? Remember this though quality components are key in crossovers, and it won't always be right the first time. When I was with the Audio Engineering Society here at Michigan Tech it took more than 1 attempt for each member to build a crossover with the appropriate roll-off and characteristics desired.
