Supercharged DCs Posted May 14, 2011 Report Posted May 14, 2011 Just a quick question, why buy a high quality subwoofer and then cheap out on the amp? Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

Idk why people hate on hifonics...i know the hifi series sucks but dam dont call it "cheap out"...plus jl aint all that...my fosgates shit on jl's all day...dont knock a brand cuz u think it sucks...anyone will agree that for the price hifonics are the shit...(except hifi)...lol

slushbk35 Posted May 16, 2011 Author Report Posted May 16, 2011 going with the cheaper amp simply because i didnt pay anywhere close to msrp on that damn sub... never the less, it will only have one of these subs, so with that said, should i still go with the 1700 or is that to much power? more info: got 4 6x9's in the back comps up in the doors two tweeters in the dash, and two tweeters in the rear, going for sq not just brutal loudness... it's going in a 3000gt... built my own custom back after taking the backseats out. just got sick of paying people for installs and figured id try my own, ill post some pics in a few weeks when i get this completed. slushbk35 Posted May 16, 2011 Author Report Posted May 16, 2011 also, i dont think hifonics is too bad, ive always had a good experience with their amps, never tried the hifi version of them tho so cant give my input on that, but i had a brz1200.1 on two memphis sclass subs in a ranger, and lost the rear glass, with pretty good sq (glasswas 4 piece sliding which im sure had a lot to do with it being pushed out), with the glass comment another question arises ill have the sub aimed directly at the rear glass... is that a good or bad idea before i cut the box board (mdf) up?
