FaTbOy911
will 2 shop packs be able to cover my whole vw golf with 2 layers or would i need more Quote Had an estimate of 6400 for an alpine/clarion setup dealer said it "should" hit around 160db with the custom boxes he was going to make for me..doubtful with so much area to move but, budget is way below that any ideas on cheaper brands for that kind of Spl setup? really didnt want to try any Boss or soundstorm, thinking Quantum figure around $150 per speaker "$1800 total" and $1700 to power it, first actual big setup for the van. Second Skin Rep Jon
Two Shop Packs should cover most everything about twice over. It is always best if you can measure the panels and calculate it that way. The question I have is do you really need two layers? What are you trying to achieve with applying the sound deadening? Are you trying to prevent flex? Improve your SPL? Just create a quieter ride? Quote Have a question about Second Skin? E-Mail me!
JustinWilson
Also look into a cheaper deadener if possible. I suggest Audio Technix ever since I used the stuff. Second Skin is REALLY good too, I cant afford it though lol Edited May 15, 2011 by JustinWilson Quote 06 GP GXP Google Nexus 7 16gb Rockford Fosgate 3SIXTY.3 *Electrical* DC Power 320a HP 2 - Juicebox Bananas g31 Stinger SPP2250 rear Kinetik HC1800 side of wall Optima Red Top front Monster Cable 1/0, 2 runs to rear Monster Cable 1/0 Big 3 2-Rockford Fosgate T1652S's Rockford Fosgate T400-4 Rockford Fosgate T40001bd (4693rms @1ohm) 4-Sundown SA-15 D2's wired @ 1ohm/These are on the way out for 4 one off Eminent Audio 15's 15.2 cubes net tuned @34hz! Second Skin Rep Jon
Nice build! I think I'll be keeping my eye on it now. Yeah if you want to prevent flex you will need some seriously strong mat. Damplifier or Damplifier Pro is definitely the way to go. If you haven't yet, please check out this thread. Might just be something up your alley. Shipping is always a tough one, especially for that much and to Central America, so don't hesitate to give Ken a call. Quote Have a question about Second Skin?
