canderton01 Posted May 16, 2011 Report Share Posted May 16, 2011 Does anyone here have experience upgrading mids/highs in a car with a "premium" sound system? Basically I'm wanting to upgrade my front stage but my 2002 Camry has the factory JBL system so it uses proprietary connections. Like it still has normal looking speaker wires connected to the speakers themselves, but then there is a harness that leads to the factory amp(which is now bypassed to my Pioneer HU). Basically am I going to have to completely re-wire the whole thing or is there some simpler way to do this? I've got my eyes set on upgrading to some Hertz audio components and then adding an AQ4X90 down the road. The factory speakers are hardwired so I'd have to just splice the current speaker wire.
