so about a month ago, I was driving along just fine bumpin decently and the sub started cutting in and and out so I turned it off. Checked connections and tried to play again, it played slightly for a sec and cut off again. I turned it off and until today didnt know what happened. Everything was fine for about a month straight.

Anyway. the former came straight out the coil was stuck in the motor the tinsel leads were stick intact. I had to pull the coil out by the wire as shown in the first pic. So my guess is the coil came off the former due to glue failure, got stuck in the motor and blew up.

I measured the gap in order for Forevabumpin to see if he can get me a recone kit. I hope the measurement is good enuff. I could take off the basket if needed to better measure however I dont know if its glued on...

anyway I was like Dayum hopefully Foreva has a coil that'll fit :P

Nice motor. What is the coil inside dimension? The motor gap is mainly measured inside coil dimension and coil outside but I guess in this case its a little hard with the wire un wound lol. Measure the pole piece too. That will give me a good idea on what coil to use.

Was it a 4 layer or 8 layer coil?

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Ok ima post some pics here in a sec. frankly they may not be all that helpful. but its the best i can do as of right now.

The motor bolts are glued in so removing them would be a pita. as far as removing the spider pack, should i be concerned with trying to keep the spider ring? (the plastic ring surrounding the spider pack that bolts down).
