question for the guys runnin 16 volt systems

i dunno. i see guys pulling 10volt on 12 volt set ups all day. i know its not good. talking to some battery manufactures they say running the battery down like that is shortening the life of the battery but technically its ok on deep cycles.

back on the 16v topic. i have a 01 sequoia so dual alts wont happen. i have a 300amp mechman in there now but i rely on battery bank due to no way in hell am i fitting another alt in there. im going to have to isolate and step down the voltage for the rest of mt 12 volt system.

for that is why my concern is voltage drop.

On Top of that, when your voltage drops that low, your amps become really inefficient, so they are trying to push more power out of them and they are just really pulling more amps and not getting much more power at all, just heating up the amps and wasting energy, if your voltage drops that low you need to get another alt in there or something, unless your running your system only on batteries where the engine is off, or some comp like that, then there is nothing you can really do, except get some 14v batteries ha ha

why not run 14v?

why not run 14v?

Yea, I would probably do a 14v system, you can sometimes maybe get by without a step down, but its kinda hard on your cars electronics, since they are all designed to run in the 12v range, but many will go up to around 15 volts fine, but with a 14v charging system it will have to charge higher then that

c'mon now, if i was shooting an 8 year old, it wouldnt be MY 8 year old.

i recently got a Pyle PL1590BL and i was building an enclosure for it tuned to 25 hz. i didn't have any tools to cut a circle so i hit it with a big hammer.
