Anyone Clamped Their DC Amp(s)?

Recommended Posts

So has anyone clamped their DC amp or amps yet to see what power they're getting or putting out? Clamped mine today but with shitty conditions. Currently down to a stock alt waiting on my 270XP to get back so voltage is unknown but I'm going to say it was at about 13 even during these. The head unit is a pioneer AVH-P5200 volume at 35 out of 40. Subwoofer level at +6. EQ flat. Gains on amp set by clip light of the amp/ ear with a 40hz 0db tone. The tones used for this testing are also all 0db tones. My impedance rise sucks staying above 2.5 atleast. Will redo tomorrow if the weather is good with the engine above idle to get better 14v electrical. sorry for my shitty hand writing. First time clamping a amp but think I did the math right. Time to recone to a dual 1. This is a nominal 1ohm load at the amp.

And before anyone says something before understanding this the amp is putting out rated powe. It is rated for 750rms @ 4ohm. At 3.87ohms it is putting out 793 watts.

Cabin peak is between 33-36. Was 33hz on the last two boxes. Haven't gotten this one metered but it's tuned a lot higher. Mid 30s is still the sweet spot but it plays really even from 30-50. Box tuning is 38 where you see the most rise from 36-40hz.

And I haven't seen your results. Need a section dedicated to amp clamping. Lol

Whoah.... Voltage and frequency?

I can't even hook up my 5k yet. :peepwall:

But some of these numbers coming out of the 5k are making me feel a lot better trying to justify spending my money. :)

7,040 at nearly 2 ohms? You running a 14+ volt system? Not bad at all...go buy a 9k and test it.:drink40:

Wow! I might need to get one of those next year. Can you atleast say what voltage?
