AQ's are really efficient and won't rape your electrical unless you run them at like .5 ohm, but I still think they need 14.4 to do rated.

Yeah but then I need MORE power to push the 1200 @ 1500rms you seem to be missing the point... im trying to run 1500rms on my current alt with an xs1200 without clipping too badly as to heat my woofer up.

Dude honestly a few hundred watts isn't going to make much of an audible difference. And you mention your sub getting warm after you play at full tilt for awhile, that is normal. Heat is an unavoidable by product of electricity.

Obviously... but this gets REALLY warm way to warm and can sometimes start to smell thats it NOT normal. It's FROM clipping and its not from going OVER 1500rms its from not having adequate electrical. So Crescendo and DD are the only companies that make under 14v amplifiers? and honestly guy... a few hundred watts DO make adifference in competition sound and air movement maybe its not a HUGE difference but I want my 1500RMS.

My other question can I get a 14.4v amplifier that does 2000RMS then tune it back to 1500RMS does it work the same way? Say if I have an 1800AP and turned it back to 1500RMS itd be doing 1500RMS at under 14.4v right? since it does 1800RMS @ 14.4v

Dude... you shouldnt be looking for an amp that gets 1500wrms at just over 13 volts, some amps can drop your voltage like a bitch to give you the rms your looking for but others you mightent see a drop at all, better off looking for an amp that uses your power efficiently so your voltage doesnt drop.

Also since your not looking to get a new alternator right now you should look into the diode mod, it uses diodes to up your voltage, so you could have a solid 14.4v all the time with your current set up.

heres the thread =]
