Got material now getting started!

Well I went to Lowes today and got a 3/4" thick 4'x8' sheet of MDF and had it cut to precise spec's and my 4" pvc pipe and also a 90 degree 3/4" elbow for the design which (Mod) Ray helped me design using BassBox Pro. I can't wait to hear it. I hope it is louder and heavier hitting than the current 2 cheap (100 watts each) Radio Shack 8" CSW-800's in a sealed box. I will be posting pics and updates as I go along with the build, this is just a standard 1.57cu.ft. box with one Polk Audio 10" 4 Ohm DB104 sub rated at 540 watts but I will only be kicking it with no more than 300 watts and a single 4" diameter x 13.36" long port, so this is not an exotic box build like most of you like to watch being built. Ray, I know the cuts on the MDF is almost perfectly cut but what if something comes up like 1/16" or 1/8" off on a cut, will that affect the predicted results dramatically or not much at all to the point of not being able to hear the difference if one of the cuts is off like I mentioned earlier?

Make sure you seal it up nicely, and the slight mistakes with cutting will be taken care of. Goodluck and show us some pictures mate

I will upload some picks of the current stereo setup (which will make you laugh,lol) sometime tomorrow evening. It's the ugliest setup in the world, honestly people and I guarantee I will get a lot of laughs and criticism when you all see it! Wires everywhere, dirty car, junky trunk (meaning a lot of junk in it), ugly old dual 8" sealed box with the carpet coming off, 2 shelf speakers with round ports and cannot see speaker(that actually hit pretty hard and carry the bass too) in each rear corner of the trunk. This car has currently been parked for about 9 months but runs perfect and I start it up everyday and drive it around the yard. Trust me though, it may be an ugly car with an ugly old cheap system but the car body and all body/interior parts are all in tact and the car is very sound proof and tight, very good insulation. Talk at ya later, hope to get a few laughs tomorrow evening.

Cuts are always off when you have the hardware store cut it. Its not that hard and they still fuck it up.

I can not believe what I just found out. The old school amp that I have been kicking my 8" (100 watt each) Radio Shack CSW-800's in the sealed box with is only a 100 watt amp when wired normally (which it was), I always thought it was a 220 watt amp. It is a Pioneer GM-X252. The specifications on this amp say's it is 40 watts per channel when wired normally or 200 watts when bridged with a frequency range of 20Hz - 20,000Hz, the amp started to make a bass thumping noise with the power light staying on but everytime the bass thump would come in then the red power light would dim somewhat and then get back bright when the bass thump would stop and it would not play any music anymore other than the heart beat thumping every 3-5 seconds so I took it out to see if it had any blown caps, diodes, resistors, ic's ect... but everything looks good to me so I don't know whats wrong with it. I also have a Coustic Amp100 amplifier which I believe is a 50 watt x 2 which I use to kick my 2 bookshelf speakers in ported box's in the rear corners of the trunk and the ports are facing each other. So these 8" subs have never even been kicked hard at all but yet they still hit bass real hard (even the lows that Young Jeezy goes down to which is around 27Hz) with some decent vibration thru all mirrors, floors, trunk lid and seats. Now I need to find me another good 220-540 watt amplifier for this new box (or the same sealed box as far as that goes). I may have found one on craigslist (that is where I get all my laptops, pc's, ram, ect...) which is a Road Gear 250 watt amplifier with a bandpass box that will take 2 10" subs or 8" subs by using the spacers that come with the box. The price is only $25.00 for the entire setup. Do you guys/gals think this will be good enough for the box I am building?

Is everybody ready for some good laughs? Here is the current setup in my 99 Ford Taurus minus the Pioneer GM-X252 amplifier which I used to push the 8's in the sealed box with because of an electrical problem inside the amplifier or either the amp died. Right now I have the 8" Radio Shack CSW-800 subs in the sealed box being kicked by one channel of the Coustic amp100 amplifier and the bookshelf speakers being kicked by the other channel of the same amp. I know there is a lot of trash in the trunk and interior of my car but all that will be cleaned during the new box build and amp setups. Alright guys/gals, I just got back from picking up that other little amp from off of craigslist that came with a bandpass box that will take 10" subs or you can use 8" subs by using the sleeves that came with it. The front has a plexi-glass front that folds over the top of the box about 6" and the subs inside the box are facing straight ahead (not facing each other) and it has 2 round ports in the rear of the box but on top. Anyway the vents that they have in it looks just like those old red coca-cola cups with the bottom cut out and they only go down in the box about 5" each and the port material (looks like a cup) is so freaking thin (way thinner than regular pvc pipe) that I don't see how it could have worked like that. The box is 13"H X 24"W X 13"D (measured it with the carpet still on it). I only got the box because it came with the amp as a package deal for only $25.00. He said the box did not hit hard enough for him (obviously because of the port (cup) issue) so he just threw it in with the amp. What brand of box does this sound like to you all? I will up some pic's tomorrow of the box and see if you all know what brand box it is and if I should redo the ports and just stick my 8" subs in it.
