Cuz i KNOW with the l7's they are rated the same way as the solo x. cuz the speaker can do fine in both ported and sealed compatable. but they rate there speakers in sealed boxes. so....in a ported box u could say there underated. my l7's did 1k rms in a sealed box, so that means an even lower rms in ported. But i ported them at 37hz and gave them 1250 true rms with sufficient power supply in a ported box and they did just fine! I was hoping the solo x could do it too. damn, ill just have to be smart about the knob thats all, givin it 5k. ill just simply lower the overall out put of the amp or just simply not turn it up that loud. N since the amp is over powering the x1 sub i miles well just run it at the larger ohm load, cuz they say it increases damping. With the higher ohm the voltage runs higher, so doesnt that mean it pushes more power thru the coil with less current? But its directly because of the amps plumiting in price like they have been. I been tryin too make as much sense as possible and not ask any of the questions ive already researched lol. CJ18 Posted May 29, 2011 Report Share Posted May 29, 2011 They didnt like 5k each at all. I could play for about 30 seconds before my truck got really stinky and I had to roll the windows down. I dont care what anyone tells you, no 3" coil is going to like 5kw. If you want to feed a sub 5kw+ daily then you need to look into a sub with a 4" coil.
