Monster Bandpass: TOP SECRET!

Recommended Posts

All of you guys saying it's not gonna work and such, I'm sure RAM knows what he's doing. Quit flaming thread saying it won't work and let him explain.

quit hugging the nuts I don't care what he says the middle sub has a 80-90% chance of unloading enough to make a difference. and a 100% chance of loading differently than the other 4

Any reason you can't trade 5 15s for 4 18s and get rid of your loading issue? What subs did you calculate for?

I already explained, and I never flamed him all I said is that middle sub is going to have loading problems

Look. Imagine all the subs are in a "lane" and are traveling back and forth. The pressure behind the subs can't go anywhere cause it's sealed, but in front the subs on either side fire forward and towards the center. The middle sub's energy is going directly into (out of) the port where the other subs have all the walls inside the chamber to load off of...

Who's to say if the effect will be negative or positive? Try it and find out. But I'd figure out a way to make that inner baffle changeable. IJS.

I just don't see how you can have unloading issues when all the subs are in a sealed chamber, sure the ones against the common walls will load up harder but cause the middle one to unload??? I can't see it happening.

just because it's sealed doesn't make it unable to unload. it will move different than the other 4 will, the other 4 will load off walls compressing the air inside less making the middle one see more airspace than the other 4 will behind, and in front the middle one will load port more than the actual chamber making it see more airspace again

The most I can see it doing is it will be the first to hit mechanical Xmax when burping. It may affect overall port tuning a little, but bandpasses are so all over the place anyway.

Korey is right, the middle one will load a bit different, but it's a "try and see" thing.
