I just wanna play some free-air test tones on it, tired of seeing the sub sit in my room while I wait for an amp to hook it up to my car. Supercharged DCs Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 Why can't you hookup both coils? Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

Just dicking around doing free air tests on 1 coil probably isn't going to destroy the sub or anything, but 1. it's not how the sub was designed to play, and 2. your "tiny room stereo" probably can't handle demanding low impedance loads that car subs present and you could risk fucking up not only your stereo, but the sub itself.
