billy101 Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Hi guys, just build my box today to house my second sub, so now I have two RE Audio SRX12D2's in a 3.1cube box tuned to 33hz...it came out rather well. The issue I'm having right now is with the Infinity Kappa ONE I got off eBay's Harmon Audio authorized retailer. I got the amp on Friday, and got to hooking it up today. It powers on great, no protect light, both power lights are on, but I get absolutely 0 sound from it. I've messed with all the knobs on the side and it doesn't make a difference. It calls for a 120 amp fuse under the hood next to the battery, but at the moment I have a 80 amp ANL which should still work as long as I don't turn it up full tilt, yet I get absolutely NOTHING from the amp. Is it defective? Am I missing something here? If I hook everything right back up to the old amp (US Amps XT1000D), it works perfectly fine. I'm upgrading to the Kappa One to give both subs 400W. Quiet Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 As long as you don't have the RCAs in the pass through jacks on the amp then I can't think of any reason why it's on but not playing other than it's a defective amp. Contact Harman. 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.

Great...I have already sent them an E-Mail...going to be pretty pissed if I have to send it back, AND pay shipping back to them, being that it was defective from the start and I didn't even get to use the darn thing. Should I get another one of these, or go with something different? I need something that will do 700-800 watts at 2 ohm...anything under $200 would be great. AFAIK Harman is a pretty reputable company. And since you got it on ebay I think you have a leg to stand on as far as getting comped for shipping. Typically a seller will bend over backwards to prevent negative feedback, as long as the request is reasonable. It's not unheard of for even the best brands to have a bad unit get out once in a while. I'd get a second one, unless it's from their refurb bin. Never had luck with refurbs, so far I'd say less than 50% which is too high a gamble for my blood. 2007 Pacifica Rebuild. Less quiet. Still not loud.

All I did was disconnected the fuse under the hood, and hooked up the Kappa One, and re-hooked up the fuse, and had this problem. I can switch between both amps leaving the settings along on the headunit and I get nothing out of the Kappa One. First System 2002 Impala LS 3.8L V6, 128,365k miles. I'm honestly hoping they will take this one back for a full refund. I bought a Audiopipe APSM-1300 which was a mistake, it came defective as well. So right now I have two amps that are defective out of the box.... The APSM-1300 and now this Kappa One...bad luck? I'd say so.... I'm going to try and return BOTH of the amps and get my money back, and then I'm thinking about getting an Audioque 1200, I KNOW I won't have an issue with the AQ line of products....just sucks I have to go through all of these problems.. I'm probably going to be going with the Audioque 1200. My mom is going to lay out the money for me tomorrow and I'm gonna pay her back once I get the amps refunded. Is there anything I should know about the AQ 1200? Is the clipping light almost dead on? How much should I expect from it at 2 ohms at about 13.6v?
