Really not much brainstorming, although I think the sub enclosure is gonna be the death of me. All the amps are planned to go in the rear deck drawer except the EP2. I think it may go in the rear deck or the trunk lid, and the bit one is probably going to go in the trunk lid. I wish I could figure out how to get a blank case for the HDP4 and put the EP2 in it so they'd all match. But that's probably not going to happen. Battery still goes in the driver side cubby, and the distro blocks etc go in the passenger side cubby. No false floor, enough room for a good sized enclosure, and we're good to go!

I may crack my knuckles and design the rear deck amp rack here in the next couple days. Merry F-ING Christmas to me!

The LRx's will be going up in the classifieds very very very very soon. Watch out for em if you're interested in any of them. Also have an alarm up in there now for sale as well if you're looking for a good alarm.

Not sure how it'll look on here, if it'll be big enough, but here's the basic new layout.

This is just the equipment.

This is the power, without all the barrier strips, relays, etc. (the small stuff)

I'm not going to explain it all, but if you do want me to, please by all means ask and I'll try and go through it.

Now then, does anyone wanna do a design for me for a 4th order on the Hertz HX300D sub? Please? Last part of this and I can have a complete design and get to building! Course the amps are gonna take a bit to get bought, but they'll come in due time!

I also need to get my DD-1 and CC-1 now I guess!

For the box, here's my final opinion: go with 0.75 sealed, 1.5 ported (1:2 ratio), tune between 38 and 40. DON'T feed this sub more than 600w RMS, it will overexcurt badly at lower frequencies (as it will also do if you go above 0.8 sealed). If you're really going with an amp that can push 500w per channel (voice coil in your setup), you need adjust gains to make sure it isn't pushing more than 300w per channel. (Voltmeter and Ohm's law). And be prepared to redo the box if this doesn't work out (i.e. don't put a lot of finishing work into it until you've heard it).

Ok, I'll get to building a test box, and test it before i do anything finished. I'm ordering the amps next week so I'll have it on hand to test it out when I build the box.

I'm going to build a ported enclosure too. I'll see what I feel more comfortable with in the end.

Well in all honesty, the sketch up took time, but I'm happy to do that and figure it out this way, than waste a ton of material and it not work and then figure this end result out anyway! SO I think this way is a better win!

If I go with a ported box, the 500watts per coil is irrelevant isn't it? Are you just talking about the over excursion on the 4th order?

Cause if not, what if i went with an HDP5 (5 channel) which will give me 200 x 2 @ 4ohms, and 550 x 1 at 2ohms. It's under RMS on the sub, but also extends the amp to max wattage.

Here's another option I may go with. 2 HDP4's for the front stage, and then an HDP5 for rear fill as well as sub duties.

I'm kicking around some configurations right now. This one would give me 200 x 2 on the rear fill, and then 550 x 1 on the sub at 2ohms.

I'm still weighing my options here. I'm ready to order, I just have to figure out what I want to do with an enclosure. The layout would change a bit too, cause the HDP5 is pretty long, well about 2.5" longer than the HDP4's. So I think that would push it out of the rear deck tray. However, that wouldn't be that big a deal, I could swap it with the Bit One on the trunk lid. If it goes on the trunk lid, then the bit one would center on the HDP4's in the rear deck drawer. My only fear with this set up, is under powering the sub should I go with the ported enclosure vs the 4th order. It's starting to come together. That's for sure!

What I may do, is order two of the HDP4's, and then build the temp ported enclosure and use the LRx 1.1k on it and see how it takes the power. Then I'll know which direction to go with the last amp, or amps.

I should be ordering by tomorrow. I'm gonna go sleep on it now. I gotta get the LRx's up for sale too. Watch for those!

By the way, the last fuse box, after the large multi distribution block, is a digital fuse box. It gives me a digital volt reading, so I have that there for show and for watch ability. I'll have a reading at the end of the line. Not sure if it matters or not, but it'll be there anyway.

Same up front. The block between the buss bar and the alternator, is also a digital fuse holder.

Just thought I'd clear that up, just in case!

I'm pretty much leaning toward a ported box now anyway, but i have to decide what I'm going to do, because I don't want to get the HDP5 (5 channel) and have it be under powering for the sub, have to sell it, then get the HDP4, or at point even getting the HDP1. The difference is, the HDP4 will put out 1000watts at 4ohms, and the HDP1 would be 1000watts at 2ohms. So I'm trying to decide that now.

I mean either way, HDP4 or HDP1, I have to go with 4 amps again, cause I'll need a smaller amp for the rear fill.
