Pivonic Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 hey guys, it is possible for a box to be too small that its messing up my coils? because im using subs that are 4 years old and im wondering if its the age of them or the box that is blowing them since i blew two already. The subs are two 15in. mmats dreadnauts running off of a mmats 3500.5 and this is the box.. please help thanks

Pivonic Posted June 28, 2011 Author Report Posted June 28, 2011 the gain is set halfway, i didnt set my setting with a scope, their running at half an ohm and my electric is just a stock alt, 0guage ground and power, and two batteries
kirill007 Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 well, there your problem, stock electrical, 0.5 ohm, and don't know how to set gains. 0.5 ohm is never good for a amp, learn how to set gains with a dmm, or buy a oscope or maybe even the SMD DD1. EDIT: box isn't too small, maybe somewhat on the bigger side? i don't know the woofers, sorry so i can't say for sure. But more port would be nice. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
optical Posted June 28, 2011 Report Posted June 28, 2011 ya i suggest buying the dd1 when you can. Do the big 3 and what batts do you have? a bigger or second alt would do a world of difference
