kam311 Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 hey guys, im doing a build with 2 obsidian audio subs on a crescendo bc2000d in the back of my dodge ram, my truck has a quad cab (suicide doors) and i took the back seat out so there is plenty of room back there! i was thinking a 4ft^ - 5ft^ box ported at 34hz would probably be ideal. but im having trouble with the design. does anyone have any cool ideas for building a box back there, i want to keep it under the back window. im not sure if subs up port up is louder, or subs forward port up, or subs forward port forward. im hoping to start this project next wee because im really missing my system! so if anyone just wants to help me on this project id appreciate it. i am willing to pay a few bucks for a good design. RAM designs was gunna help me i thought but he didnt respond today (hopefully he does soon). any ideas are welcome tho!!!!! so far... 727Designs Posted July 1, 2011 Report Posted July 1, 2011 From my experience in my quad cab truck without a back seat subs forward port up faired the best on the meter, and by ear. The easiest way to do is is to do a standard cube shaped box, then make the side plates long enough to be slightly taller than the center hump, then make the front piece that far down, and cut it to follow the contour of the hump. It makes it super easy to design the box without worrying about that hump. Just measure and see what you have size wise after that and go to town. -Zach-2010 Toyota TundraFull Hybrid Audio SQ 7" BDS on 37's 2000 Ford Expedition 160+ dB Green Turd -SOLD-
kam311 Posted July 2, 2011 Author Report Posted July 2, 2011 Well now ram is going to design me a box, I think he said we are going to do 55" x 18" deep x 13.5" tall with subs firing up and the port firing at the passenger side door. But I highly doubt this will be the last box I build in this truck haha. Do you have a quad cab too? so far...
