Recommended Posts

Im going to be putting in either 4 or 5 kicker comp 15's and I was wondering which would be louder/sound better I want it to be as loud as possible but I don't want to sacrifice even a little sq thanks

Oh and I listen to everything from Jimi Hendrix to lil Wayne thanks for your help

What vehicle is this going to be in? Unless you have 10 cubes of airspace sealed, and 15 cubes ported, you'd be better off using fewer subs, or a smaller size subwoofer.

To answer your question though, unless you're pressed for space, I'd go ported. Generally speaking, you'll be louder off the same power, and will likely have a bit more extension.

If you are pressed for space, I'd suggest fewer subs, a smaller size sub, or subwoofers more suited to small enclosures.

You may be offended by the above. Don't take it personally, I'm just abrasive.

15s, 4-5 of them, comps and don't want so sacrifice any sq? You just did imo.

Yea not very good sq subs. I believe they would perform better in a sealed box not saying you cant go ported but ive never heard any ported i cared for IMO. Id say do the 4 sealed and go biggest you can fit and set amp gain accordingly

Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year. New build should be coming soon in a dodge cummins smile.gif

I know they're not the best subs but they're the best I can afford I'm going to school and only able to work part time plus I'm 18 so think it's pretty good all things considered

okay with that being said why not go like 2 18's of a good strong brand instead of kicker (not hating or anything)
