What are some advantages and disadvantages to having either? thanks 2 12"s, don't let anyone tell you 15's get lower and louder than 12"s for that is not true, build a proper enclosure for some beefy ass 12s and be amazed Quote '93 Firebird Formula V8 H/U- Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X395 Mids/Highs Amp- Hifonics ZXI80.4 Wiring-KNU RCA's, Speaker Wire, And Two Runs Of Trystar 1/0 G34 Red Top and a 180amp Ford Alternator www.youtube.com/TRTC360

armykyle1
a single 15 can beat two 12s. sub type, build, power. You have to think of the linear travel of the sub, the T/S ect. Since that's your type of music I would recommend a single 15(15s typically have a lower FS) with a low FS and a high xmax. I would look into TC sounds subs. Those usually fit the bit for loud n low with good SQ. Whats your power range? Price, space confinement? canderton01
If you're on a budget, I'd just get 1 really good 15 because it could easily beat 2 12's if you put it in a good box. But if money is no concern, then get 2 really good 12's.
