Also, wtf is the point of a clam in a trunk. A regular ported clam just allows you to put more subs on the two 'faces' vs a conventional flat face. Supposedly they are more efficient, but im not sure in what way exactly...but they are definitely a PITA to accomplish correctly. You'd also probably have to build it in your trunk for it to be truly worth it. I doubt you're up to trying that (and if you are.........good luck......)

as far as jumping different classes it depends on what you compete in. Down here is usaci.

There is battery and amp limitations. my class which is 0-1000watts (take you amp(s) rating at 4ohm. and 2 batts not exceeding 800ci each. Max voltage of 15.5 and 1 alt. Now I don't have the factory "deck" in my car but they allow me in stock since the actual sheet metal for the mounting of the deck is not modified.

http://www.soundoff.org/rules.htm

http://www.soundoff.org/rules/2011splrules.pdf

Trunk Division:

Trunk Division will use the “Stock Division” rules with the following exceptions:

Modifications: Speakers larger than 8" and any speaker being used for SPL must be located only in the

designated “Trunk” area behind the rear passenger seats. Enclosures in the Trunk Division must be

installed behind the rear most passenger seats. Neither the enclosure, nor any device(s) affixed to the

enclosure may protrude above the factory rear deck. The rear deck may not be cut out or modified in

any way. You may however remove the factory speakers normally located in the rear deck. Amplifiers

must be located in the trunk area. Amplifiers may be attached to the seat back and lean forward with the

seat back during testing but must not interferer with the seat being placed back into the factory position.

Extra batteries may be located in the trunk but cannot be located inside the passenger compartment.

LoL...You have a thing for rear seats :eeh:

[q name='TheyDontWantMusic' ]

a 150 is doable in a trunk...but takes alotttt of work..lots of testing,

-----------

...with seats that don't fold?

-------------

its 2 bolts to take his seat out... he can fold it down if he wants or leave it up

--------------

this entire thread is a discussion about him aiming for 150dB without folding the seats.

what competition rules allow you to unbolt parts of your car to compete?

------------

A 129.3? ... :yahoo:

Dude, the last shit I took was louder than that.

--------------

really? 129.3?

db drag or outlaw though?

with or without the seats in the car?

----------------

so how exactly was your score done?

drivers window down? meter on the windscreen?

rear seat removed? or was that still bolted in?

-------------

so was this done with, or without the seats bolted in? seeing they don't fold.

----------------

I thought you were doing this with the back seat still in, seeing it doesn't fold.

if you're unbolting the seat to fold it, you may as well just remove it, and do a half wall in place of the back seat.

----------

mines doing 144.9dB, db drag legal (this is a bit questionable, but I've read the rules!)

seats do not fold...

four 12's...

and it peaks at 36Hz...

------------

my bad... dB drag event today, did 146dB, street C, seats don't fold... 36Hz

Come on guys...give the guy a break; though I must admit it is funny.

This is all a learning experience for him, one day he might discover something that works awesome and come back and kick all of yo asses :drinks:

Loudness is no substitute for musicianship, and partial deafness is no badge of honor. I was once able to hear this advice.
