Recommended Posts

Well, there´s something that lots of people with great knowledge says, box is built for the car not for the sub, i haven´t been able to learn this myself but i will get it eventually :)

I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Panamenian 2009 & 2010 & 2014 Bass Race 149.9 Champion!

the problem with the test is that the woofers have different resonant frequencies, so without actually clamping the power, its quite possible that the DD sub had the least impedance rise.

the DD has the lowest resonant frequency, at 30Hz.

this wouldn't have made a huge difference, but without knowing actual, clamped power, the test doesn't mean much.

oh, these are all metered in the kick?

meh!

I think each sub did exactly what it was suppose to no one should feel but-hurt here 300w 400w 500w and 500w watt wins no surprise here . That being said you could tune/tailor ideal boxes for each sub in the same vehicle but who really is going to go through all that trouble unless there bias to begin with.

oh I was biased. Bottom line is whichever sub performs... well.. it performs. They all did great in my opinion.

This testing actually turned me more towards Sundown mostly b/c of the price/performance/sound quality ratio. It plain beat the DD in SQ, but the DD got it in SPL.
