BJD3
Yes, I did read the sticky, yes, I did search, yes I did watch a few different YouTube videos. They all deal with drop-in recones. I only have one question right now, but it will likely turn into multiple before I'm done. This is my first time doing a recone, and I'd like to do it right the first time, ya know? How do you attach the coil to the spider? I know you glue it (herp derp), but how do you determine at what height to do so? Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. Don't take it personally, I'm just abrasive. 2002 Buick Park Avenue DC Level 4 M2 12 D2 Car Audio Bargain 1600.1 Eclipse CD3200 ~2 cubes @ 34 hz. BJD3
Fuck that question. For better or worse I glued some shit together. Now, how do I punch holes in the cone for the tinsels? TheyDontWantMusic
you'd want to glue the spider the same distance from the windings on the voice coil as the original was.
BJD3
I buy the cones premade and ready to be dropped in.... they arent too much money compared to un assembled cones... I wasn't aware the recone kit I bought wasn't assembled; I assumed this was a drop in recone. . Either way it's a learning experience. you'd want to glue the spider the same distance from the windings on the voice coil as the original was. Any idea how you're supposed to determine this distance? Edit: damn you autocorrect. Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. TheyDontWantMusic
...measure the original coil? you need to get the voice coil the correct distance into the voice coil gap, so it needs to match the original coil.
