ISO Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 I'm usually always comfortable running an amp that is 200 watts over the rating on a subwoofer. I run a BD1500 between 2 HX2's (800 watts apiece) and I think they could take a little more power. I would not go over 1000 watts and 1000 might be pushing it. Over 1000 and I can hear the Voice Coil slam the back plate to much. Isobaric - Refers to the practice of coupling two drivers together to make them act as one. kirill007 Posted July 15, 2011 Report Posted July 15, 2011 If you are only going to overpower them by 100-200watts, then there is no need to do it. You can't hear that difference. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
