I posted on your other topic already, 3500$ it´s a funny budget for a 155 dbs, specially since you like dubstep and stuff, i would love to see you doing a demo without any mids and highs lol

Anyways, you should get that 160 dbs box from that moron, he sure knows how to use an old Audiocontrol with a bad calibration on the old mic :clapping:

bout 40-50M north of pittsburgh, i mean ya, theres quite a few people around here that have systems in their vehicles, but nothing too great best ive seen close to home is probably my old friends camaro with a 4k "peak" system in it, im running 400w optimus + 2x Mtx 400w 10s "from 2005" nothing great but it rattles the van lol

Optimus XL-400w amp 2x 10s IMPP 400w 2x something or other in dash 2x 35w radioshack 8" full-range AcDelco factory radio "frankenstein'd from my dead buick" Dodge seats 1984 Chevy G30 full size 1-ton van "Rust Monster" Progress - around 15% primer/patching

Sold the van in 2014, had it about 75% done, never did get the system in it. Bought a 2000 Chevy S10, still using the same amp/subs. Headunit is XO Vision X538. It's 52x4w, has a dvd player, auto flip out 7" touch screen plus alot more and is a single din.

lol, made from 1/4in trailer panels also i bet

about the mids and highs, i was going with a ton of either 5-1/4 or 6x9s along the walls that the boxes arent against, theres plenty of room in there, just wanted to get the subs all in order and powered first thing

Well, with that amount of money you can get loud, but why making such a big jump? i would try to learn way more about car audio and start with something smaller and upgrade it later, maybe buying only a couple of good 15´s right now with a single amplifier so i can get another pair with the second amplifier in a few months, just saying...

i could always do that no prob, was just hoping to get atleast partially setup to take through some car cruises that are coming up next month, no competitions till its FULLY equipped with the better stuff "that could take a couple years how i save up money"

(buys 70 radioshack brand 15s "$25 each" subwoofers and makes an air cannon ported right at the sliding door" probably wouldnt even work right lol

2 18s and about 3,000rms and a good box tuned on the lower side will do you plenty good for now regardless of what the number it puts up

that sounds like a plan to me, could even go 4x 18s if my budget allows or just the 2 for now and add onto it

Full size van

displacement volume "inches" 108L - 50H - 70W = (378,000 cubic inches)..oh what fun

I've heard that you would need to displace around 1/20th of the total volume to reach 150-155Db or so

That would make it 18,900 cubic inches.

trying to figure out how much cone/port area total that i would need, but my brain fried after seeing almost 400k cubic inches

anyone able to figure this problem out?

thinking 12x 12s at 3k watt "1500 rms" each, no idea on power yet

we have a gmc safari cargo van doing a 154.2 db sealed on the termlab 4 12" subs in a 6 cubic foot ported box that sits 6 inches from the back doors dont know if its 1/20th of volume but we are pretty happy.
