Still working on a battery rack, but its almost impossible I wanna say to be able to design the amp rack without the amp so im just waiting I guess trying to keep this build alive. I might end up wrapping the box or painting it so I can enter SOTM but I dont think I would win.. theres HUGE builds there D: but if i won anything I would only want to win for bragging rights, i wouldnt want a new system oh well. still working though! My dad has 3 of them in the garage! they were given to me, but i didnt know anything about them, so i gave them to him, this was a few months ago, but now im seeings a build or two with people using them, so i looked up the specs, and they seem comparable to kinetiks larger series of batteries! Is this true?! If it is...I could be in for some bank. I have access to about 50 of them..for free.. I could sell them off and i KNOW when I get the T2500bd that it wouldnt hurt to have an extra battery. But how do they perform for car audio? And whats their selling price? I have tried to look them up, but couldn't find them except on their main page which doesn't have a MSRP on it. Where would you get them and how much do they cost? If theyre cheap, then I wont bother, but If I can sell them for $50 ea we might be seeing a wall soon. Like I said. I have access to a bunch of them! But I dont know what theyre worth, anybody got a few links to buy them at? Shouldn't be too expensive, but honestly I am not 100% sure they make recones for them anymore. rickyfromthe407 Posted July 26, 2011 Author Report Share Posted July 26, 2011 Day 8: Well guys! Got some goodies from FedEX today. Not EXACTLY what I was waiting for. But they are necessary! Heres some pics! What could it be? A 9"x11" package from fedex? Well... That was an awefully big package for 2 little fuses. ( or might I say big ) But. Glad they got here. Amp should be coming in a few days. Ready for the amp rack! Got my cousin coming home from the Air Force Saturday and I am hoping to give him a good demo ! As soon as that amp gets here I plan to start the amp rack. Battery rack had a bit of a change of plans, but it will still look decent. It is just going to a be a few " L " around the battery don't need too much, gotta let the battery breathe, and the 90 degrees cuts will look pretty good sanded down and possibly painted black, so we will see. Grabbed a few pieces of scrap from the shop, cut em to length with 45s and glued em together and called it a battery rack... Painters Tape Clamps ftw! Well..thats all there is to the battery rack, besides drilling through it and countersinking some screws. Battery wont be going anywhere, so I am not too worried. FedEX made it a good day! 1 step closer! Now come on UPS with the amp! rickyfromthe407 Posted July 28, 2011 Author Report Share Posted July 28, 2011 Well guys, got some good news! Just sold the Power Acoushit OVN1-5500 watt amp for $140. Which is $40 more than I paid for it Damn locals. ALSO, finally found out the reason UPS was not updating tracking... I HAD THE WRONG TRACKING NUMBER! So I called them, and for some reason the numbers got mixed up, not blaming it on the seller. More UPS. ANYWAYS, got it tracked, and it scheduled to be delivered tomorrow! Chyeah! Stay tuned, were about to get LOUD with the new setup compared to the old one. 4 up-firing with no cancellation vrs 4 with cancellation. Did a bit more work today though, nothing special. But I ran a 10ga remote wire. Its only 10ga because the current 16ga is too short so i had to make it longer, i spliced it about 1/2way through so i cut it out behind the drivers seat, and ran that back. So its 16ga from the headunit 50% back then butt crimped to some 10ga for the rest of the way. No big deal. The 10ga looks nice though. Hope it fits in the amp D: anyways, that run is MUCH cleaner looking now. Got all the cables ran for the amp and battery. Just waiting on the amp so I can build an amp rack and throw the subs in. Then install the battery and wire it up! Stay tuned guys we should have some good pics tomorrow if all goes well with the seller shipping the amp ( and UPS delivering ) hope the amp looks as good as it did in the pictures! Word! What did Meade say in that one video "Christmas in July?" for me it was! Well, woke up early to wait for Mr. Postman! But wanted to do some work to prepare for the amp rack. What's an amp without a battery! Predrilled and countersink 8 screws 3 per side and one on each end. Fit perfectly. Battery ground is just the right length. Sweet! Battery installed, we can begin to move to the amp rack! Cut a few rough pieces of MDF to toss in the trunk and see what kind of dimensions I could get for the amp rack. Nothing special or worth pictures. So i left them out. Couldn't do much more work today, but glad I got the battery rack installed. Stay tuned, I might do more work on the amp rack tomorrow. But I will have to see how the day pans out. It’s coming along nicely though if I may say so myself! Cheers!
