Mounting Batteries under truck?

I am wanting to relocate all my extra batteries to the underside of my truck where the spare tire is. What I want to know is, is it safe to do so on a daily driven vehicle or would it be better to leave them inside?

It's safe as long as you build something good to house them. I know on Steve's tahoe he has a cage around the batteries but I'd say make a cage with L bent steel then weld some sheet metal to make an enclosed box around the bottom and sides of the batteries.

if you can weld and keep them from ever moving then absolutely.

yea welding is not a problem. I was gonna use some angle steel to build brackets for mounting. I have 6 XS925s. I want to mount them with the terminals down so its easier for connecting

lol I will give you credit where credit is due. You gave me the idea and I wasnt really thinking heavy on it until I started taking measurements to mount my compressor and air tank for my train horns and I was like...hmmmmm, wonder if this will work lol
