18abVFL Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 In a month or two, i'm buying my friend's 2001 Celica GT-S and building a nice loud daily driver. I plan on running 1500+ rms from an American Bass VFL 100.1 to a sub. I'm not sure what sub yet, but either a 15 or an 18 (probably audioque or techforce). I have up to 6 cubic feet to work with, and i'm not sure which will have more potential. I plan on using this 8" aeroport. It's 18 inches long. I want to be tuned pretty low (30-34hz), so the bigger the box, the better. Whats the biggest box I can use for a 15 without it sounding like crap? Will 6 cubes be too small for an 18? 1999 Monte Carlo Sony CDX-GT34w 2 Alpine Type R 12"s in 4 cubes tuned to 35hz American Bass VFL 80.1 amp @ 1 ohm (probably doing between 1000 and 1300rms) Stock alt, Stock batt, Big 3 Upgrade Boston s55- 5 1/4s (doors) Boston s95- 6x9s (rear deck)
