Most shops are fucking blood sucking bastards that are aimed towards kids that don't know shit who will buy 2 jl wo's for about $400 dollars and get an amp and the rest of the install for $600 haha. unless the shop owner is cool or they sell spl stuff most of us don't ever have a reason to go to a shop unless we want to take a shit on their front porch (fun btw)

im looking at 1 or 2 batteries, looked at kinetik and XS Power but thats expensive.

so i was thinking what about some optimas? whats the difference between blue, yellow and red?

i can get deals through Napa with where my dad works, so i'll see if they have those, but i know optima is pretty cheap what do ya'll think? im running 1700rms @ 2 ohms with very little trouble on stock electrical

Battery prices have gone up slightly this past year, but there is not that much of a difference.

There are some positives to Optima's in that their warranty is rock solid and if you buy it local (if you don't it's a complete waste of time and money) you can take it back if it dies (and they do). I'm just one of the many that has had HORRIBLE experience with their yellow tops. The last good yellow top I had was around 96 and that one lasted 4 years beating the hell out of it. The last 3 I've owned didn't make it more than 6 months.

The hassle free ownership alone is worth the extra $25-$40 a battery not to mention they crush Optima's on amp output anyways.

As far as the shop goes, knowledge is power. Find the prices online and take that price to them, just don't expect them to match it because remember they have a shop to pay for and far more overhead.

If at first you do not succeed, you are doing it wrong! -ARS

That's a good price man. This shop just doesn't really lol me because I do build kids boxes. And even though they arnt in my town, a lot of people from my town go there and they want to control everything audio around here. But I think there is a sundown dealer about an hour away I'm going to contact then to see of they have a meter.

And I agree, 40 bucks is worth good service man haha. And Ionia shops have a lot of things to pay for, shoot im not cheap in all the things I do either, but I guess I hate them so bad cause the shops on my area are dicks to me cause I know a little bit.
