nickgallegos
But what should the HP filter that is built in to my Pioneer deck be set at?
RooTxBeeR
nothing, turn it off, set gains, then once they are set put it at where you want the filters set to. nickgallegos
But I'm saying the ones I have that are built in settings on my Pioneer HU. I can have them set to pass, but I still have to set a frequency cutoff I believe
EBW
If you set the xover on the HU the ones on the amp can be all the way up and its only going to play the frequency the HU sends Quote Kenwood KIV-BT900 Front Stage RF 400-4 Runs off dedicated 4 awg ofc RE 6.5 125.5. EBW
All the way up... I.E. turned the the highest frequency settings but lower than the xover out of the HU will only play the freqs the amps xover is set to... make sense? nickgallegos
Thanks EBW I always wondered about that. So what do you recommend? Use HU or don't use HPF from HU and use amp
EBW
You can also use a tweeter on a xover to check for clipping due to harmonics but just to be safe have your stuff scoped or set with a dd-1 when they are shipped that is Quote Kenwood KIV-BT900 Front Stage RF 400-4 Runs off dedicated 4 awg ofc RE 6.5 125.5. nickgallegos
Right now its Pioneer DEH-9800BT HU Alpine PDX-5 amp Alpine SPR-69 rears and I haven't installed them yet, but I also have Alpine SPX-17REF components for the front door panels, but at the moment its just Pioneer A series coax speakers in the front. Maybe today I will throw in those Type X Alpine comps. Then I'm waiting on a Alpine Type R sub that should be here next week
