Bandwith Exceeded Again: Just Bought Another 150gigs

How do the other major forums do it? I know of many many many forums waaaaay bigger than this, how do they manage to pay for everything?

I see nothing but this website getting bigger and bigger, its exploding in size now and wont be stopping anytime soon.

yes there are bigger Car audio forums than us, but we have alot more than just a forum, tons of video thats not watered down like another site does, the videos eat bandwdth like crazy.

let me break down just how big this is.

now you see where this months bandwidth went

if it was just a forum, it wouldnt be a problem. It is the pics and vids that take the largest toll. Plus if you havent noticed there is always 200 people 24/7 then during the day 300-400 and as much as 700-800 on the site at one time. I didnt expect that when i started this site its cool though!

Steve, ever thought of like a premium rapidshare account to upload your videos to and linking your videos from the main page to that download. Rapidshare and other sites like that are fairly quick, and for as most premium accounts have unlimited downloads for <$100 a year

Seriously Steve, anyone associated in this site or with the "hoe" or "the hooptie" should pay because you have numbers now (website) that can back it. I know you trying to do right thing but getting half off or "competitors price" is not cutting the mustard. Your name has become a force in this game and whether they like or not they going have to acknowledge it. These manufactures you have listed, are they paying you? if not, to the curb then. Business is business and personal is personal. I'll give you an example. Them faggots at MTX never looked for me even though I was the only one repping their brand in NY with all their products in the "BEAST" and I have the biggest name here as you do in Cali. I didn't get 50% or nothing off, I paid full price. Now MTX ain't shit here because no one has it in there cars including me. I don't care if they see this because everything Im saying is true. When I asked them for help like new equip or transportation funds for NorthEastern shows, they practically laughed in my face. They went and had that escalade built with the 2 jackhammers built and Im not knocking it but they would of saved alot more doing something with me but whateva, I can ramble on all day. I think you are a hell of a nice guy and I have to let you see the light. Wearing, putting logos, demo the Hoe, talk about, youtube, myspace their products is a great gain for them while you get discounts or "MAYBE" a sponsorship. You get where Im going with this my friend.

Companies have to realize fast that there are people that they need to work with like you, Tommy, Assman, Bob Perillo, Scott Owens, Daunte and guys like this because they are talked about and known. One hand washes the other.

Bottomline,TIME TO GET PAID STEVE AND ALL OTHER BULLSHIT OUT THE DOOR.

just so you know my broham, its MUCH better then 50%. My stuff for my personal use is almost free and a lot of it IS free. I would say that any banner on my front page has been earned.....i dont do it because its my favorite brand, ive been pampered and im just returning the favor. Im not even required to compete which is good because i dont even feel like it these days. I like demo'ing

oh ya, when i say some stuff is free, you know the deal.....ive dropped THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS before i got to this point and competed at least 80 times....so ive paid my dues first Oh, and key word SOME.....even with a "deal" i still have to drop some scrills when i need stuff but other stuff comes unexpected....

Okay sorry I didn't know it wasn't the forum that was sucking everything, but even then you didn't answer how they do it? I mean RoE has a massive video section? lol, this is definitely a bigger audio site, I was more referring the other huge ones non car audio related.

Don't take me wrong here, I'm absolutely not saying you guys are doing anything wrong. I was just interested in how the other popular forums go about paying for there bandwidth.

termpro for example bought thier own server, most of huge sites do the same thing its cheaper in the long run, its alot more work though.

Not really, I have had my own server for around 4 years now no big deal as far as maintaining it. Compared to doing nothing to maintain a server I can see where you are coming from but it really isn't that big of a deal and if you find a really cool host, they help you. I was lucky enough to find one of those hosts.
