whats teh disadvantage or tuning it higher ? I just kinda always heard 33 hz is a good tuning freqeuncy, and I know it depends on the subs, but I really dont know, im learning about this buisness, I wouldnt mind sealed, I am looking for very nice sounding bass that is tight, but I also want to make it hard to breath in the there, sealed would be super easy, but how much will I loose volume wise? what would you do? I definatly want to hit the low notes, thats why I had 15s in the first place :P

Do you have any space above the subs? You can make the sub stick out of the box and save space. My ports stick out and go into the box. I am at 5.8 cubes net with 15"s.

yea, I am having them out of the box, so the magnets are out, that should save me some space

I really hate to say it, but 2 12's tuned lower on the same power with 15 in^2 of port area per cuft will sound better than your 15's in a higher tuned, or sealed enclosure...

I just went from a nice quality 15 in a min vented enclosure tuned to 30 hz, to a larger enclosure with a very nice 12, on the same wattage and gained a lot of sound. Not to mention the 12 will make you want to puke, yea just one 12.

The 15 just didnt have the proper room to sound right... 15's don't mean lower... actually in a poorly designed box they are just wasting space..

You may get away with a few 6" aeros tho...

Sell 15s for 18s!

And backseat's are over-rated. Just stick people in the port, lmao.

My question is, how does steve get away with such a small port?
