D-train-13k
alright guys. well i didnt like the way the first door panel turned out. plus since i couldnt afford to get resin recently the fleece had started sagging and stretching out due to the heat. so i redid it. took off an 1.5in because the 6in selenium was slightly touching my seat. and i also removed the top support to help get some of the bulkyness out of it. tell me what yall think. i plan on resining monday. D-train-13k
need more staples. but looks like youre making some steady progress. im gonna start on mine soon the back is loaded with staples lol. about every inch and a half. i didnt use as many on the rings because i didnt make them as thick as i should have. im hoping i wont have to redo them when i go to put the speakers in. im going to predrill some holes before i use the screws so i dont break the rings The IrishmanCheck out my build hereXL 4th order wall build logIn Progress:alpine cda HU4th order Bandpass2xl 15's1- ab 400.1 (gonna be two hopefully)4- Crescendo 8's2- xts crecendo supertweeters 2 sq super tweetsMb quart 4.125Mechman 270a alt1- xs D27003- xs XP3000 4- odessey pc1700seller feed back threadhttp://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/136418-d-train-13k/

Seeing all these makes me want to start them now but the bank account wouldnt like that. haha i know the pictures are garbage. so is my old ass blackberry. im trying to get them as clear as possible for you guys. but i started applying the resin today ive only done about two coats. just to where its got a glossy finish to it. am i supposed to keep putting resin on it until i dont see the staples anymore? im kind of confused as to how much resin i need to put on it. Rell
No, only enough resin to soak the fabric. Let it cure then scuff it up a little depending on the resin you are using. 80 or lower grit should be fine. Then mix up some more resin brush a light coat on then start adding your shredded pieces of chop mat. There should be no flex to it at all. Sand that then body filler from there... Have fun sanding lol.

Rell
You my friend did not do enough re-search before tackling on this. I suggest you do more searching that way you can get these doors done right the first time and not waste a whole lot of money needing to redo mistakes. This is chop mat, fiberglass cloth/mat etc. http://www.tapplastics.com/shop/product.php?pid=89&
