teamace24 Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 I have a 4 channel giving 60 watts rms at 4 ohms to each channel. Im using the front two channels for my CDT set and not using my rear 2 channels. In my truck there are two factory tweeter pods in the front and i want to use that area to put in a pair of tweeters to be run at 60 rms each. My budget is $75 for the pair, i like the aluminum sound better than the silk sound as i like the highs to be very loud and detailed. Crossovers inline with the tweeters would be great but my amp does have that 10x button on the hpf just do not know how to use it but i can learn (Amp is cerwin vega exL400). size could be from 1/2 inch to 1 inch. 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
StatingROBIN Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 Look at some Precision Power T.2 tweeters. They are super loud and very cost efficient.
teamace24 Posted August 16, 2011 Author Report Posted August 16, 2011 Thats pretty cheap that would have me hesitate on buying them wondering why so cheap. Anyone else know some tweeters i can add or even replace my cdt tw25 pro tweeters but using the same crossover that my cdt has so they have to be able to work being crossed by a cdt crossover. 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
Kevin M Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 I wouldn't reccomend using the same crossover for different tweeters. They could be damaged due to different x-over points. Try partsexpress.com for some aluminum domes. Should have a wide selection as far as what you are looking for. You should be able to use the amps internal crossover for the tweeters providing you don't cross them below reccomended freq and slope. I have my tweeters hooked directly to my amp without using a passive xover. My amps have 24db/octave slopes though so I feel a little more comfortable. I would cross them a little higher then see how you like the sound and slowly lower it to the reccomended cutoff point. Hope that helps 2005 Ford Focus zx4 AMT's and Planars 18" Infinite baffle
Colin - STAPUFT Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 I have 2 pairs of these in the dash: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=272-110 but I wish I had gotten these: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-362 4 times as much.... but if you want loud, the Seleniums are the way to go. 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain. teamace24 Posted August 18, 2011 Author Report Posted August 18, 2011 Im leaning on selling my cdt set and buying the fosgate T1 6.5 components to run on 2 channels at 60 rms to each side. Then with the remaining 2 channels, i was thinking of either getting another set of T1 tweeters or even getting the Kicker 2011 ks25 1 inch tweeters giving them 60 rms to each side as well. As you can tell im lost but why do i think this will work im looking for very loud while sounding decent. 1st Setup(SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 Audioque SDC2.5 15 subs8.7 cubes at 37hz build DONEAudioque 1200d (Audioque 1200d Sold, similar performance to my ap1500)Diamond Audio Hex 6.5 Mids n TweetsCerwin Vega Exl 400 4 channel Bridged(also have MTX 4004 not being used)1 Run of power Knu Fleks 4 Gauge2 Cheap stock Battery setup2nd Setup (SOLD):2007 GMC YukonPioneer Avic F90bt Audiocontrol Epicenter2 15 Kicker cvx (maybe two SA 15 in future)7 cubes net tuned at 34hzAlphasonik Old school 1600rms (ap 1500d sold GREAT Budget amp)JBL 6.5 Power Series Components, Infinity Kappa 6.5 3 ways, and 2 Kicker KS Tweets (LOUD)Cerwin vega exl4001 run knu Fleks OFC 0 gaugeBig 3 done1 Odyssey 1500, 1 optima yellow top d31
EdgarG0721 Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 How do selenium compare to crescendo tweets?
