So it was electrical day today and I hooked everything up and let my brother set my gains and it sounded great but I stopped and checked all my wiring today and oh no the positive came put no big deal I can fix that so I pulled out the screw and lost it, bought a new screw from home depot (same threading) k good now that's okay my amp still does not come out of protect, I'm pretty sure it's because of the gain knob being stripped but have no idea, so my question is could that be the issue, and if so is there any way I can fix it or should I just take it in?

Well it all happened at once so honestly I have no idea if it's the new screw or the gain knob screw being stripped

pretty much long story short:

this was a memorial build for his twin so i figured hey lets try to get him as involved as possible and i told him to grab a phillips head and turn the knob about 3/4 of the way up and he must have not known when to stop and cranked it way to hard and stripped it...

im assuming im fucked, but i PRAY its a cheap fix.... Im pretty upset with myself because i should have known to stand there and watch him-he doesnt do much with any tools let alone audio equipment (Granted i dont do much more, but i shoulda watched him better)

i was just wondering if that was the issue of why it keeps going in protect, or if it could be the screw

all i know is it was working, i checked out my wiring the positive came out i lost the screw bought a new one, put it in tried to have my brother set my gains and my amp went straight into protect...
