MECHMAN Posted September 7, 2011 Report Share Posted September 7, 2011 Depends on the turn-on speed of your unit, the diameter of your current pulley and the diameter of your crankshaft. If the car is idling at or below turn-on speed it may be able to pick up the rotor speed enough to turn on at idle. By increasing the rotor speed it will increase alternator output.
