onyx1silverado
So I have a Nissan cube and decided to upgrade the speakers. It has spots in the A pillars for tweeters so i got components and I went with Alpine type s because they sounded good at the store ran off the same hu as mine (pioneer p4200 dvd). In the back I went with the coax versions and they are down in the bottom of the doors as well. First problem I notice is they are a lot more quiet than the stock ones (i think it's because the stock are 2 ohm). 2nd is the tweeter is so harsh sounding. So I am gonna scrap that idea and go with the Focal Access 165 A1's because it has tweeter adjustments at +3, 0, -6 and I think that will help and in the back i will use the coax versions as well. Really I'm looking for opinions about the Focals for my situation. CleanSierra
My type R components had an adjustment on the crossover to quiet them down a bit. Do the type s x-overs not have the same? onyx1silverado
I'm also thinking about powering them with the Rockford boosted rail amp. Has anyone else used this amp yet? acarolan
i have the K2 power 165 krx2, they don't hit the lows too well (maybe if i had better enclosures, i mean they're in an '85) but the highs are SO SEXY. if you want focals but don't want to spend 200% of your life savings, i'd go with the polyglass series, i have the 6x9s in the rear and i was running those only for a while and they take power like beasts and they alone gave me some flex ahaha #ilovethemsomuch
