Recommended Posts

ok so here in a few days im gonna be doing my first build im gonna have a l7 15 and first thing first is the box. this is my first time ever building anything  so any tips on the actual building of the box? all i know is that i need 3/4 mdf plywood. what should i use just gorilla wood glue? and how many sheets of plywood am i gonna need? also, what is a good size box / tuning? idk what my max dimensions are i will check tomorrow but its in a trunk car. if anyone wants to make me something on torres calc that would be great. again any tips would be amazing im really new to this :yahoo:

Use MDF wood or Birch, stay away from plywood. Measure twice, cut once. Go over your sub specs and box calcs until you ate sure it's what you want. If you use screws, predrill your holes so the wood doesnt split on you. Better to use the gorilla glue and a nail gun. Shoot them in about every inch and a half. Silicone your joints after to make it air tight.

ok so i found this box it says 5.25 cubs of air space tuned to 30 hertz. i know its a prefab but would this be good? i could just go over all the inside with caulking to make sure its air tight. so would this be good?

also, im gonna need some wire to do my big 3 and for my sub amp looking for 0 gauge. what is some cheap wire? and how much will i need for both my big 3 and amp?

with kicker follow their specs on the box had two comps that did 143 in an escort on 600rms with box to spec, Do use the caulking to seal the box but lining it with fiberglass is the best, knz concepts sells good cheap wire or audio savings has a lot of diffrent power wire for really good prices

birch is easy to work with if u want to spend the money. if not make sure to predrill all the screw holes in the MDF otherwise it will split. trust me the 15 dollars more for birch is well woth it
