Id shave it down til it fit. the reason its there is to keep it from torquing when you hard shift and things like that. 5.7L V8, not the vortec, i dont think my year had a vortec option, i think that was available the year after. ChevyBoy95 Posted September 7, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 7, 2011 Is there a way you can take only the bracket off and leave the alt on? i would but one of the bolts that holds it on is rounded over one the sides where when you try and loosen it the wrench moves but the nut doesnt. I got the other one off easy, but this one had to be a bitch and cause trouble...
