zack_e89 Posted July 3, 2012 Report Posted July 3, 2012 well guys i hate to say it but i think this is the end for now, really theres a few factors that are influencing this decesion. first issue is the need for change, i either need two recones for these woofers or i need new woofers entirely neither of which i can afford second issue is cost, i cannot realistically upgrade anything with my current job. 5 bucks an hour with only an hour of work per day only covers my fuel. it leaves me no room to save or buy new things. third issue is actually finding a job, i know this may seem like a shock to some, but i'm only 17. well being 17 it reduces my chances of being hired by a factor of 10 because of insurance, cerfew or legal issues with the products they sell (ex alcohol or cigarettes) so after the summer the woofers will probobly be up for sale and my amp will probobly become wall art, and my eyes will be set on college. so what does this mean for the audio game? well i'm not leaving it completely. but it will be of reduced importance for the next 4 years, after that i'm planning something big. lets just say i have an idea that may revolutionize the audio industry. i cant really tell you guys anything about it yet simply because of the nature of unpatented things and the stealing of ideas so you'll just have to wait and see Sorry to hear the bad news, and I'm really surprised you didn't have more comments on here. bass_stalker Posted July 22, 2012 Author Report Posted July 22, 2012 did some more work on the radio today, yesterday when i installed it i wired up a new remote turn on on my soundquest rcas, well somehow after i did that i got alternator whine in the system. i ended up getting rid of the whine by disconnecting that turn on lead. The only advise I can give you is to buy stuff that is sturdy and worth getting- and then hang on to it. I'm really enjoying the build sir. thanks, it means alot. and i'll definitely invest in some nice equipment when i can, maybie i'll finally be able to get away from all secondhand equipment and just getting what i can get a good deal on. as for the alpine i'm liking it so far, its definitely a huge leap over the dual, it uses a good bit less power at high volumes and sounds better doing it. My favorite options of your list are either the single 12, 2 15s or 1 18. I think 1 12 would be cool because if you can put a lot of power to it people will be really shocked that it's all coming from just 1 12. 1 18 would also be cool because 18s are just huuuge in person. 2 15s would have the most cone area though...
