Does two sets on one channel lower ohms?

I have a diaghram that shows how to wire two component sets to one channel. Was wondering if a lot of people are doing this, and that's why people are running 1000.4 amps and such. Does it lower ohms if they are wired in parallel? How does this work?

two 4 ohm component sets wired to 1 channel (+ to + and - to -) will make the amp see 2 ohms on that channel, which, almost (if not every) 4 channel amp can support 2 ohm stereo (not bridged)

Yes if you wire more that one speaker per channel if will lower your ohm load I am currently running (2) 100.4s and one of them is powering 4 6.5" speakers on 2 channels each speaker is 8ohm and they are wired in parallel or a 4 ohm load

Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged

So when it comes to power rating for the speakers, should I have them match the 2 ohm power rating of the amp? Or if they already match the the 4 ohm power rating does it matter if there are two sets. I ask cause currently running focal 165VB comp set on a RF t400.4 and plan on adding 4 more sets( two sets on the front doors together on a channel, and a set in each rear door on a single channel). Also have a set in my kicker panels on a t400.2 that I plan on adding some 4's in my a pillars to. Just curious to my ohm load, if I need more power(RF t600.2 and a t600.4?) or if it's possible.

You will be fine as long as you don't go lower than 2ohms per channel. Also it is better to power mids and highs at higher ohms for better sq. Buy running at 2 ohms for daily is fine unless you are a sq fiend.

You realize that dropping to 2ohms doesn't double your power I think your goin to need more power to really shine I use 2 750.2 zapcos for my highs wired at 2ohms

oh dear god....

wiring 2 loads in series quantifies resistance, wiring 2 loads in parallel will give you the average of the 2 loads.

in parallel wiring the new, higher output of the amplifier will be divided among the loads based on their individual resistances.

If your amp puts out 100x4@4Ω or 150x4@2Ω, then at lower resistance the individual loads are actually recieving less power.
