The Teen Audiophile
ANYONE could you help me out? I want to calculate the length of a L shaped port for 2 Fi SSD 15s. Now, say the box is 24" long and the port needs to be 26" long, do i stop at something like 19", then add the 7"? Thanks!
JEMT8
Depends how wide you want the port. You should keep constant width throughout so whatever the width is of the port is how many inches you want to be away from the back wall of the enclosure. zx10intn
you stop at the width of the port, then measure down the middle. for instance, if your part was 6" wide, stop 6" from the rear wall and make your turn. subtract the width of your port from the overall length for your port wall. say it was 6 wide and you make one turn and needed it to be 30", you would have 24" of port wall. hope that make sense lol Quote 1969 Chevy Chevelle 20/22" staggered Bonspeed Huntingtons wrapped in Nitto INVO's Mechman 250amp cs144 alt w/AVBM Kinetik 1800 main battery/Kinetik 2400 in the trunk Pioneer AVH-3200dvd Headunit (2) sets of Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine components up front (2) DD 3512's d4 coils Sundown sax100.4 component amp Sundown saz-3000d subwoofer amp 5ft^3 box tuned to 34hz MY BUILD

It's actually a 18"x6"x20.5" port (HxWxL) but my box is only 18" deep (inside dimention). So what should I do?

zx10intn
the first port wall should be 12" deep, then turn and your second piece should be 2.5", when measured down the center there will be 6" of length in the bend Edited September 12, 2011 by zx10intn Quote 1969 Chevy Chevelle 20/22" staggered Bonspeed Huntingtons wrapped in Nitto INVO's Mechman 250amp cs144 alt w/AVBM Kinetik 1800 main battery/Kinetik 2400 in the trunk Pioneer AVH-3200dvd Headunit (2) sets of Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine components up front (2) DD 3512's d4 coils Sundown sax100.4 component amp Sundown saz-3000d subwoofer amp 5ft^3 box tuned to 34hz MY BUILD

Cuz i've seem mixed results between a sloted port and sqaure port. :/
