Maroon97SL
Well RF had a stupid idea with this rubber that covers where you screw the sub into the box. For one its a slot ported box with plexi glass, so its a b#$%# to get a screwdriver in there. I did this trying to take one of the screws out, I know it is small but it still scares me. What would be the best approach to repairing this little hole. Maroon97SL
It isn't the first time. Every time it's happened was in a bandpass enclosure. What about gasket maker? It is called ultra copper sensor-safe high temperature silicone gasket maker. It's make by permatex. Azagtoth502
Use some "Amazing Goop" brand or 3M brand Windo-Weld. Not all silicones will stick as well. Don't glob it on, apply a few light layers. Don't glob it on, apply a few light layers. I put some of that gasket maker on, it seems to be sticking fairly well. It seems "oily" leaves like a residue when you wipe it off. I am so pissed at myself right now >.< grrrr. I just got this sub today. I wanted to take the sub out to put some better wiring in the box. I applied one thin layer on the outside and took my finger and rubbed some on the inside. I'll see how it holds up i guess. Maroon97SL
How serious is this? like honestly What would be the worse case scenario? I will be pushing the sub with a RF prime R500-1 amp. vettedude102
Worse thing would probably be the hole getting bigger. If it messes up I can probably sell you a 10" hx2 Quote 2 polk audio 4x6'skenwood head-unit 220 amp Mechman alt1979 Corvette 2003 corvette z06 alpine radio and the bose system that came stock
CleanSierra
You'll be fine with the little fix, just keep an eye on it. What is the voice coil configuration? Dual 2's or dual 4's? CleanSierra
It's gonna wire at 2 ohms then, so I don't know where that amp puts it's power out at, but you have to wire the sub for 2 ohms.
